I am from SITIAWAN, Perak. Sitiawan or so called Setiawan is a combination of the Malay word, 'Setia' and 'Kawan' which means loyal friends. It is a region in Manjung district. Sitiawan is a famous tourism spot where it is near to Teluk Intan and Pulau Pangkor. Thus, Sitiawan pop out as a place of tourist's attraction because of the place of interest, food, and the people here especially.



PLACE OF INTEREST

1. Pasir Panjang Tua Pek Kong Temple, Sitiawan

A famous Chinese temple located in a Malay kampung, Pasir Panjang. The Malaysia biggest stone sculpture of one of the pantheon of Malaysian folk religion, 'Tua Pek Kong',  is located here making this place worth for a visit.




2. Taman Paya Bakau, Sitiawan

A preserved mangrove forest where you have a chance to go near to the green nature. Built with bridge and pathway for the tourist to enjoy a fresh breath. Don't feed the monkey here or you will get attacked! 




3. Sitiawan Settlement Musuem

Built in the year of 2003. One and only musuem established by the Christians in Perak. Historical photos and historical relic is stored and shown here showing the history of how the people coming south to Perak from Hock Chew, China hundred years ago.


FOOD


1.  Hock Chew Red Wine Mee Shua

The authentic red wine mee shua. Using the residue of brewed red wine as the condiment for the soup and to pickle the chicken with the mee shua. I would like to introduce you if you are a mee shua lover!



2. Sitiawan Gong Pian

A stuffed flat bread that is filled with either onions, or char siew. I would recommend you to enjoy it when it is hot.





3. Dry Kampua Mee

Kampua Mee is type of dried mee served with slices of lean char siew. It is not a special dish but the springy Kampua noodle make it a decent dish.
